Dr. Hanauer is chair of the Immunology, Microbiology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease Committee of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). He has served as a member and chair of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Gastrointestinal Drugs Advisory Committee and currently chairs the International Organization for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Dr. Hanauer is a member of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's Clinical Research Alliance.
